- I am looking for a recommended book teaching me how to program in visual C++
- from the basics to advanced. I have previously programmed in
- C,Cobol,Pascal,Modula2,Assembler(68000) and Visual basic. I have a good
- knowledge of structured programming, and good programming techniques. I
- also have a good knowledge of the way windows works, i,e what is involved in
- creating a program. I have bought a copy of Bordland Visual C++ 4.0, but
- have access to a machine with Microsoft Visual C++ 1.0 (I consider the
- Bordland to be the better of the two).
-
- I would welcome any advice anyone can offer. If anyone can advise on useful
- www sites, that hold information that you consider may be of use to me,
- please also let me know.
-
- If you feel moving straight from C to Visual C++ is too large a jump, I am
- quite prepared to spend a few months (or as long as it takes), programming
- in C++ (I have the gcc compiler in Linux), then please also recommend a book
- that will prepare me for some of the techniques I will find in Visual C++.
-
- Thankyou in anticipation of your advice and time.

- P.S Please reply via email.
